Firstly, Vvdi Prog can read data out of it on the bench.

How to Generate Mazda 6 ID49 Smart key using Xhorse Proximity

Mazda 6 – 2016 id49 433Mhz- all keys lost successful programming 2 keys one original key and second xhorse universal smart proximity all functions work great
did by vvdi key tool, no need app. (VVDI mini key tool works together with the app. )
Program it to car with obdstar x300 pro obd programmer.

I used same one on a Mazda 3 2017. Also used keytool to generate.

How does VVDI2 work on BMW CAS1 to CAS4+ via OBD?

Here’s the new feedback for VVDI2 BMW on the latest firmware (V6.6.5):
CAS1-OBD good
CAS2-OBD mostly good, had EWS tampering fault code with no-start once.. cleared with ISTA/D sync.
CAS3-OBD good
CAS3+(+)/encrypted /ista-p version-OBD not good! downgrading bricked a few CAS modules -> much safer by soldering and making key from EEPROM dump.
CAS3+(+)/encrypted/ista-p version is very good if you do it via File make key. DO NOT write new EEP dump back, even if it tells you to. The key will work fine without writing back the modified dump and in fact writing the modified eeprom could brick your CAS in my experience.
CAS4(+) via soldering also very good and safe. you need good skills with hot air soldering and good flux. CAS4 via OBD good but has risk. If damaged CAS, you can fix by programming with E-sys.
FEM/BDC- only tried once on a bench setup.. worked fine with the test bench but never tried it on a real car.

I see something in smok…two different connection..one for security bytes and one for reading..

Reply: You can read with VVDI Prog in circuit, no security bytes needed. Pinout is clearly drawn in software so you can compare also with SMOK.

VVDI Prog and VVDI2 Program Range Rover 2006 EWS All Keys Lost

How-to: program Land Rover Range Rover 2006 EWS system all keys lost using Xhorse VVDI Prog and VVDI2 key programmer.

Step 1: Read EWS Data

Remove EWS from vehicle

Follow wiring diagram to connect ews with vvdi prog

In VVDI Prog software, select Range Rover EWS (2004-08)

Read and save IMMO data.

Step 2: Make dealer key

Open VVDI2 software, select Transponder Programmer->Immo Data Tool

Select Euro->Range Rover->9S12

Load eeprom dump read by vvdi-prog

Insert transponder into vvdi2 programmer

Select Make dealer key

Save new key data

Step 3: Write back data

Write new key data back to EWS module with vvdiprog

Done.

How to solve VVDI2 Decode Failed Error E0-9C?

Question:

Hi, my VVDI2 remote function does not work. It displays in Chinese language. Also give an error “Decode failed! Please retry after update device! Error: E0-9C”

Solution:

Your VVDI2 database version is Chinese, your remote is english version. They don’t match.

Provide us your device serial number and country to us to change database language to English.

Tried three different computers. No firewall and no antivirus. Still keep getting error.

That is the problem about the version , please use the xhorse app ‘online service’ for contact the people, and show your serial number of this , they can help you.

Finally update well , no problem.

Contacted xhorse via skype. They logged onto my computer via teamviewer. Noticed everything was good on my end. He did something on his server. Update now went through. Thanks Xhorse.

VVDI Key Tool stopped producing because VVDI MINI Key tool replaces it, but the tech support never stop, thumb up!!!

VVDI2 Program 2017 VW Jetta all keys lost tips

Confirmed: 2017 VW Jetta all keys lost done using Xhorse VVDI2 via OBD

Note: surge/overvoltage will damage the VVDI2 interface.

Take one user’s experience for example:

I was in the process of programming a key for a 2017 VW Jetta (Keyed Ignition All-Keys-Lost).Everything was going fine and the 24C64 service file was successfully written to the dashboard and I was able to read the eeprom and immo data through the OBD.

I made a dealer key and added it to the dashboard to which it registered but the instrument cluster was still displaying “Immobilizer”. There was a moment when my jump box was getting low and I was connecting my jumpers to the Jetta as well. When I went back to the car and tried to read immobilizer again, I noticed it said failed as if I didn’t have the OBD connected to the car. I noticed my VVDI2 was hot at that point and had a slight smell of burning/smoke. I did some research and a very popular post stated that I needed to replace the “A2SHB” component on the circuit board. Upon opening my VVDI2 I didn’t see the A2SHB in a condition that would most likely cause it to fail. I replaced that component regardless and now I still cannot connect to OBD still. What do I do at this point? I’m clueless and not sure what to do. Towards the OBD side of the circuit board, I smell a little smoke.

Possible reason:

This has nothing to do with the last updates. it was his own fault because surge/overvoltage damaged the VVDI2 interface.

Solution:

I guess you could send it back. And maybe they can replace the damaged parts or circuit board.
Or you can buy only new hardware. And keep all your licenses, if you had VVDI2 Full version.

Some others is constructed like if it got stolen. You lose all purchased licenses at the same time.
And the developer cannot help you get them back, and transferred over to a new hardware.
This is why it is important to only buy, the licences needed at that time.

The nice thing with Xhorse, and some other companies who has the same policy.
Is that you can actually get new hardware. And keep your serial, or at least keep your purchased licenses.
Like if it got stolen. You can contact the distributor who sold it.
And tell them to lock the tool.
