VVDI Mini Key Tool updated Remote Renew Function

Good News!!! Xhorse adds the remote renew function to the VVDI Mini Key Tool in November 2019.

Update your Mini Key Tool software to V1.7.4 and firmware v1.6.1.

Note: Mini key tool does not comes with renew cable. You need to purchase the renew adapter separately.

An example:

Unlock Hyundai 4-button remote

Select Remote Renew->Hyundai & Kia-> SVI_HMFNA04

Check wiring diagram and connect remote with vvdi mini key tool

Press Unlock button

How to Solve VVDI Prog failed to Read BMW ECU N55?

Question:

Xhorse VVDI Prog failed to read ECU N55 MEVD17.2.4 from a BMW 5 series 2014.  I am using the new Bosch ECU adapter. Is the server down or am I doing something wrong?

Solution:

With vvdi prog need boot pin like picture below

With Autohex or Yanhua Mini ACDP can do with adapter without boot pin (N55).

VVDI2 solve BMW E90 CAS3 Bricked Problem

I dumped and modified the OL15Y chip in my CAS3 which seemed to go well, until I tried to start the car. The mileage was reading the same on the Dash and CAS readouts in INPA, but whenever I went to start the car, it would spin the starter motor but no start.

I tried to run the CAS>>DME sync in Inpa and also ISTAd to clear the fault for my CAS and DME to communicate, but it failed every time saying “incorrect start value during start value matching”. The fault codes are 4A62 and 4A63 (EWS tampering).

I purchased a spare CAS with the same hardware number and wrote my dump to it, but the car would not communicate with it

Tonight I’ve dumped from my original CAS that would not start the car to check the readout, all looked ok to me, [s]but now I’ve messed up with the soldering iron and damaged the CAS so it won’t respond.

Senior professional advice 1:

You have Xhorse VVDI2, it’s simple. RESTORE original dump to CQS. Choose “file make key” option and tick the box 16 or 64 attempts to start.

Program the key with programmer and try starting. When it doesn’t , put key in programmer and click the window where it says “not start”. After a few attempts it’ll fire up. Done.

If you try doing the same with OBD the tool will mess up your CAS eeprom which happened to me. Car will start once but then you’ll have a A0AA code in CAS.

Program Mercedes S500 2008 W221 All Keys Lost with VVDI MB

How-to program Mercedes Benz W500 Year 2008 chassis W221 key with VVDI MB BGA Tool when all keys lost.

Step 1: Read EIS Data

Choose chassis W221 and read EIS data

Reading data success.

Save EIS data
Save HC05 format file

Step 2: Calculate password
Select Password Calculation

Select IR mode and chassis W221
Press Data Acquisition

Connect VVDI OBD cable to OBD on bench before continue
Connect IR adapter to VVDI MB before press OK

Take out and insert again if already inserted

Wait until calculate password success

Step 3: Prepare key file

Go to Prepare Key File->Load EIS file

load EIS file

Select key format v51 and press Prepare Key File

save key file

Step 4: Write Key

Go to Read Write Key

Identify key and Load Key file

load a key file

choose key file format v51 and press Write

VVDI MB Tool write key success

Test EIS status/Working Key->Test working key

Insert working key to VVDI MB IR reader before press OK
Insert working key to EIS
Insert working key to VVDI-MB IR reader

Test working key okay.

Start vehicle with the new key.

Done.

VVDI Mini Key Tool and Key Tool unknown differences

The author collected four users’ experience using Mini Key tool and Key tool, and share with you the unknown differences between the two products.

1. The old VVDI Key Tool is a canceled product already.

2. VVDI MINI Key tool or VVDI key tool?

Depend on what you want to do
VVDI MINI Key tool has one free copy per day on ID48 96bit but doesn’t have remote unlock functions.
For chip copy and chip generation is better to buy VVDI MINI Key tool and Handy Baby and KD X2 and Tango.
if you want to work professionally you can’t work only with one of them.

3. Question: Didn’t someone mention here that it is possible to combine the old KeyTool with the new KeyTool Mini (which has activated 1 year license) and this way activate ID48 96-bit cloning on the old KeyTool too?
   Does it also obtain Mini’s ability to have one free token each day when it’s combined this way? Thus sharing a token between both tools…

Answer: I got my mini keytool pre-activated with the ID48 clone function from the factory and it is strictly one token per day, not transferable.

4. Xhorse APP Have tech support online inlc. vvdi keytool

Let’s read the claim from Xhorse Company:

Dear Xhorse customers: As many customer requirement about the vvdi keytool version , Xhorse company decide to transfer all NA version to GL version in this week , like this all customer can generate the Prox key, but if any customer still want keep his version in NA , please go to the Xhorse app ‘online service’ to find Xhorse after sales people for talk about that.

vvdi mini key tool unable to read some chips and smart keys

regular key tool reads fine………..

they discontinued the good one for a weaker product

mini key tool wouldn’t even detect a lexus gs350 smart key today…..

grabbed the regular key tool and read it fine and cloned it no problem onto lkp02 for spare dummy key

mini reads and clones most stuff just fine

but it doesn’t even see some others

I even took the smart key board out of the case to try to get it closer to the coil in mini key tool and still wouldn’t even detect it

Program Range Rover 2015 up Key with VVDI Prog VVDI2

How-to: add a new key to Land Rover Range Rover 2015 up using Xhorse VVDI Prog and VVDI2 key programmer.   It is also work with all key lost by the same way.

Main steps:

Read KVM  RFA data

Write Key

Rewrite data

Step 1: Read KVM Data

Remove the KVM module

Locate IC Chip RFA MC95S12XET265

In VVDI Prog software, select Land Rover->RFA Unsecured (MC95S12XET265)

Check connection diagram

Connect KVM module with vvdi-prog through MC9S12 adapter

Read D-Flash and save data

Read EEPROM and save data

Step 2: Write Key with VVDI2

In VVDI2 software, select Transponder Programmer

Select Euro->Rover->-Rover/Jaguar 2015-

Load RFA DFLASH and EEPROM data respectively

select a unused key position

Insert new key into VVDI2 programmer

Select Make Dealer Key

Prepare dealer key success.

Write the new dump file to RFA module with programmer

Check key status

Show key ID.  The key can start the car.

Step 3: Rewrite Data 

In VVDIProg software, open EEPROM and write new dump to RFA module

Open and upload DFLASH and write new dump to RFA module

Install RFA module to vehicle.

Test thew new key.

Done.
