Xhorse Key Tool MIDI Unlock Mitsubishi Smart Key

Needed to reuse several locked OEM Mitsubishi smart keys. This job shows how they were unlocked with the Xhorse VVDI Key Tool MIDI, allowing them to be programmed to another compatible Mitsubishi.

 

Check the Key Information

  1. Power on the key and open Remote Clone to identify the remote frequency. In this case, the key reads 315 MHz.
  2. If needed, go to Transponder Clone > Read Transponder to identify the transponder type. The key uses a 46 chip.

Select the Remote Renew Function

  1. On the Key Tool MIDI, navigate to Special Function > Remote Renew > Mitsubishi.
  2. Select G8D-644M-KEY (434 MHz) from the supported remote list.

Connect the Key & Unlock It

  1. Follow the wiring diagram shown on the tool. Solder the four required connections:

Power (-)

  1. Once the wiring is complete, tap Unlock.
  2. The tool reports Unlock Successfully, even though the tested key is a 315 MHz version.

Verification

After unlocking, the used OEM smart key is ready to be programmed to another compatible Mitsubishi vehicle. Basic key programming can proceed normally, and the programmed key should start the vehicle and operate its standard functions.

 

Workshop Notes

The wiring is straightforward, requiring only four solder points. In this test, three used OEM Mitsubishi smart keys were renewed successfully, and the process worked even with a different key frequency.
