Question:
Any option to get pinout BCM for carprog or vvdi prog? Can’t find anything ?
I have this Magneti Marelli BCM alfa brera.

Any idea how to connect it ? Any option for pinout ?

Solution:

Smok or I/O terminal can read Alfa 159 by OBD.

Don’t use carprog. Use Orange5, Upa or vvdiprog.

It is not so difficult to follow the pins, and to a spot to connect a wire.

Read BCM data, then precode the key with correct tool otherwise the remote will not work. After that have to add the key via OBD.
You can use original key fob but if the precode correct then you can use PCF7936 as well.

The power should be disconnect and connect before each operation.

Here comes one problem:

i am trying to clone mt86 with 2 infineon inside , i tried to read with vvdi prog the old ecu it says chip not connected i did exactly as the help in vvdiprog. The old ecu have only 3 coils working i don’t know what component is for the coils so i decided clone on other one.

car start with old ecu , and also i tried to read with combiloader it read flash normally i copied on donor ecu but car didnt start so i want to copy whole flash and eeprom with vvdi prog but always chip not connected.

Solution:

In the Delphi MT86 you have 2 Tricore _ TC1766 ( Motor + Gearbox )
To read TC1766 motor you should use this method :
Raise PIN 122 (PIN 122 should be lift).

Xhorse VVDI Prog Read BMW Land Rover EWS3D module

BMW EWS3D module is different from regular EWS3 module.  Ews3D can be found in bmw Z3 and some older Land Rovers.

BMW EWS III D
EWS Ill D is installed on E36/7 beginning of production 99 Model Year. The system does not have a K-Bus input.

Purpose of the System
The purpose of the EWS 3 D system is to provide the highest level of drive away protection available to vehicles without a K-Bus. The input side of the control module functions the same as an EWS II (no bus inputs) system with the exception of an integrated EWS module and transmitter/receiver module. The output side functions similar to an EWS Ill (3.3) system with “Rolling codes”. The EWS Ill D control module is on the D-Bus for diagnostics.
Individual component inputs and system operation is the same as the mentioned previous systems.

How to Reset BMW FRM3 XEQ384 using Xhorse VVDI Prog

Here’s the guide to restore the original eeprom from Dflash to repair BMW E-series FRM (BMW Footwell Module) module by using Xhorse VVDI Prog programmer.

Note:

VVDI Prog adds FRM-E-SERIES-XEQ384 and FRM-F-SERIES-XET512 read & write options since version 4.6.8 (check pinout connection to VVDI Prog in the end of the post).

Here takes an example on BMW E-series E71

Step 1: Read Dflash

Connect FRM module with VVDI-prog

Open VVDIprog software

Select MCU->Motorola -MC9S12->9S12XEQ384 unsecured

If vvdi prompts “Partition information error, please select the partition size manually”

Select the partition size EEE:0 sector, DFlash: 128 sectors (32K), press OK

Read and then save Dflash, i.e E71 xe

Step 2: Dflash to Eeprom 

Open Dflash to EEE for FRM3 Software, upload Dflash data just read

Then convert Dflash to eeprom.

(You can use free online FRM3 D-Flash to EEPROM converter here as well: http://tlvps.tomvanleeuwen.nl/frm/)

Save eeprom, i.e: eee_L508991.bin

Step 3: Write EEPROM

Back to VVDI Prog software, select Type 8-Others->BMW->FRM E-series XEQ384

Click Write Partition (will erase Dflash and eeprom data)

Write EEPROM partition to 16 sectors (4K), DFLASH: 0 sector 

Open EEPROM data just converted from Dflash

Click Write tab to write eeprom

Reset FRM success.

Install FRM module back to vehicle.
