Question:
Having a few too many issues reading this Audi A3 P8 Micronas cluster on bench with Abrites + ZN060 Micronas cluster adapter. Maybe VVDI2 would be better? is it possible to wake up this cluster on bench with VVDI2?
Here is the clue.
A3 Micronas with blue connector is not possible with pogo pin to service mode and read immo data, you will need to service mode by eeprom.
A3 micronas cluster with blue connector has no support for reading immo data by ANY tool.
You will have to read EEPROM(24c64 from memory),write modified eeprom on bench, replace cluster in car, write back original by obd and then read immo data by OBD with a supporting tool. Xhorse VVDI2/VVDI Key Tool Plus can do this from start to finish.
There’s plenty of guides on how to do TP2 service mode by EEPROM online, but the xhorse tools mostly automate it, just feed the file in and write back the result file then continue to write back by obd/read immo data.
24c32 in this one. People have done a few this way with Key tool plus and VVDI Prog. Better have the cluster on the bench and try to avoid connecting the cluster in the car and lose the ABS coding.
Feedback:
Well, did the needed… and now it works.
Pin 1 +12V (30)
Pin 4 GND (31)
Pin 5 +12V (15)
Pin 29 CAN H
Pin 30 CAN L
Connected in bench and VVDI 2 did it’s magic.
Abrites software is busted for OBD reading on 8P platform A3. It was reported to them several times and that was quite some time ago but they obviously don’t have any interest in fixing it. VVDI does the job for me.
