Now, the Xhorse MQB RH850 V850 Adapter for Multi-Prog is available. It supports reading VW 4th gen Johnson Controls 34xx series, MQB-RH850(R7F) series and MQB 34xx series instruments. Required to use the MultiProg Programmer meanwhile.
For those who need to calculate immo data, VVDI2 or VVDI Key Tool Plus are both good choice. Following we’ll demonstrate the process on how to read MQB48 R7F701402 instrument data.
Connection
Open Multi-Prog software, find the option to view the connecting diagram.
Device >> MQB48-LOCK(R7F701402)-READ(VW->MQB)
- Remove these 8 components, then scrape of the PCB mask.
- Solder the wires to connect the RH850/V850 Adapter and instrument. Secure them with acetate tape.
- Continue soldering the wires on the other side. Once the soldering is successful, connect the adapter, Multi-Prog, computer and VVDI2. Don’t forget to power the Multi-Prog.
Read Data via MULTI-PROG
Now, let’s proceed to read the data.

After successful reading, save the data file.
Read MQB Data via VVDI2
Open VVDI software.
VW >> Key learn >> MQB platform instrument immobilizer >> Instrument with locked NEC35xx(MQB48, VDO/JCI) >> Decode immo data >> YES, load encrypt data without extern EEPROM
Press OK to save MQB48 immo data file!
The file can be used for making dealer key & adding key.
This is the usage method of MQB-RH850/V850 adapter for MULTI-PROG. No cutting wires, no lifting pins. Significantly reduces the risk of instrument damage. Very practical!
