Question: Has anyone had success cloning a 4A chip with Xhorse key tool?
Here is the clue.
You cannot copy from the original 4A chip, but if the universal key is already programmed, then it is possible to copy from it.
Not possible to clone 4A chip with VVDI Super Chip XT27A. You need an XT27B or the new XT57B super chip.
XT27B is only available in remotes. XT57B is coming soon.
Situation 1:
The ‘function not activated’ error occurs when you have not got the xhorse vvdi key tool max ID48 96bit cloning license activated.
Take 10 brand new xhorse remotes and just generate any remote to them. Once you do that it will be activated, it has to be 10 new never used remotes, just generate each 1 1 time, you can generate them over again later when you use them.

Situation 2:
I still have this error after generating 10 remotes and got the id48 96bit copy license activated, I don’t see the option under shop>function.
Change network connection and sync device.
Update xhorse key tool max software or firmware and try again.
I’ve got a five-button GM flip key, it’s actually locked to a vehicle. It can’t be reused until it was unlocked. So I’m gonna use the Xhorse Renew Adapter here working with VVDI Key Tool Max to unlock it.
As you can see, the GM proximity card is indeed locked.
To unlock key, it needs to disassemble the key shell and take out main board.
Put the board in button side up properly on Renew Adapter.
Go back to Key Tool Max,
Special function >> Remote renew >> Buick Chevrolet >> 5BTN smart key 315Mhz F7952E >> Unlock
Note: If it didn’t identify the key and renew failed, try to press down the pins of board that are actually spring-loaded. Push down on them to make sure the pins contact are good.
It’ll process automatically…
Renew success.

So now I can reuse the key to other vehicles. The Renew Adapters Set is including 12 adapters, supports to work with VVDI Key Tool Plus or Mini Key Tool for different original remote keys unlocking.
Today I’m gonna to use Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max and the Renew Adapters Set just purchased to unlock an OEM Dodge Fobik key. Once it is unlocked, it’ll be able to learn to another car.
The Renew Adapters Full Set has 12 adapters, with this particular set you can do all kinds of vehicles. Instead of having to solder wires to the board, these adapters actually just line up the board where it needs to be and allows the Fobik to be unlocked.
How to unlock Dodge Fobik key?
Here is the OEM Dodge Fobik key.
The Key Tool Max and Renew Adapter No.10 are connected.
As you can see, the Fobik key is “Already locked”.
Open its outer shell, to put the circuit board properly in Renew Adapter.
Press on Xhorse Key Tool Max,
Special function >> Remote renew >> Chrysler & Jeep & Dodge >> Select correct FCC ID: IYZ-C01C M3N5W783X >> Unlock
Renew in process, wait until 100%…
Renew success.
Let’s get the key out to check info again.
As you can see, it is “Unlocked” now, and still outputting a signal.
All right, it’s all good done!
Renew Dodge Fobik key successfully via Xhorse Renew Adapter & VVDI Key Tool Max.
How to use Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max to clone a spare key for 2014 Fiat Doblo? It’s very fast and easy, following I’ll show the procedure.
An original working key, a blank new key and a VVDI Super Chip are required.
Put the original key into Key Tool Max coil, press
Transponder clone >> Read transponder
Information has read out, it’s cloneable.
Just follow the instructions to clone, continue to press
Clone >> Start clone >> 46 transponder clone >> Original key clone(recommended)
Note: don’t remove the original key
It’s asking to sniff at the data, so what I have to do is to put the antenna near the ignition and turn it on.
Put the original key into Key Tool Max coil again as required.
Wait collecting data…
Calculate success.
Take out the original key, then put a Super Chip into coil.
Write data success.
Let’s put the Super Chip inside a new key shell to have a test.
As you can see, it starts the vehicle.
Let me try the original one, both can start the car.
It is a very simple process with VVDI Key Tool Max to clone a key for 2014 Fiat Doblo. It only takes me 4 minutes to finish.
Problem:
I had a problem when performing ID48 96bit online calculation with the xhorse vvdi key tool max. I have combined device with my key tool plus, mini key tool as well. Already collected 1425 points before cloning. Why it still says the device don’t have enough bonus points for calculation.
Solution:
From the last picture we can see you have 1400 mb points, 4 paid tokens, and 25 bonus points from remote generation.
The MB bonus points cannot be used on ID48 96bit cloning. Only can be used on MB calculation.
